QuestionAddition to being battery powered, can the side speakers be 110 powered (to alleviate the need to recharge)? Do they have to be recharged by attaching to the main sound bar? Thanks!

- Answer The surround speakers of our JBL Bar 9.1 can be recharged through USB connection aside from directly connecting to the soundbar.

QuestionWhere is the ideal place to mount the wireless rears? It really does not specify in the manual that I saw. My couch is right against the wall so I am assuming not to high but really would like some suggestions before drilling holes in the wall.

- Answer as the other poster mentioned, ear level as you are sitting down, about a foot to the left and right of the couch, there is a diagram in the instruction manual that indicates proper placement. I got some TV dinner folding tables and placed books to increase the height and roughly placed them and listened to movies music to ensure I placed them where it would sound good in my living room. Then I mounted them to the wall. Good luck and enjoy your new soundbar!!

QuestionI bought this sound bar and love it but I may have to return it . Every two or three days I have to unplug it because it stops putting out sound. Anyone know why ? I have master reset it . I have changed hdmi cables twice now . Using 4K cables

- Answer I have had the same problem a few times. It may not be the bar but the TVs ARC connection. I have Directv and at least once a week I also have to reset that to as I have no picture. Maybe try emailing JBL support. Love the bar though.

QuestionHow do I connect my JBL 9.1 sound bar to my Sony Bravia A80j using HDMI cord?? I connected everything and it doesn’t work. I DONT want to use Bluetooth to the tv. Can someone please help me out here.

- Answer The HDMI-ARC port on your TV should be used while the HDMI-CEC function is on. This will make your TV send the audio going down to the soundbar. Please check the manual of your TV to enable CEC.

QuestionHigh Ceiling Performance? I was watching videos on how this soundbar works and it uses the ceiling to bounce back sound, my ceiling is really high so I wonder how will this perform in those scenarios.

QuestionI thought the system came with the caps to cover the ends of the sound bar, and the sides of the speakers. How can I get them, anybody know??

- Answer The Best Buy product description is misleading in that it says it includes the 4 end caps which are only available in markets other than the US. Contact Harman Kardon customer support and they should send you the four end caps for free since the product description is incorrect. You will have to show proof of purchase that you bought the JBL 9.1 from Best Buy.

QuestionDoes this has to be directly connected to the tv via hdmi or arc to receive sound or does it utilizes wifi to connect to the tv? I need clarification because I see customers have this set up with no cords or wires running from the bar to the tv!!!

- Answer Our JBL BAR 9.1 can be connected to a TV that is Bluetooth capable but we do not recommend this as it may cause audio/video delays when in use. We suggest connecting the Bar 9.1 with the TV via hdmi, ARC or wired connection for a more stable connection.

QuestionBought this soundbar a couple weeks ago and I love it. Only problem is that the left detachable speaker refuses to connect or dock to the system. Iv charged it via USB and tried docking it numerous times and not change. Please give me some guidance

- Answer Try placing the speakers where you would normally have them for surround sound and run a calibration according to the instructions.

QuestionI see that someone already asked if the rear speakers can be charged via usb, and it was answered as yes. But can they be left connected full time or will this damage the speaker or batteries?

- Answer Yes, you can use a USB to charge the rear speakers of the Bar 9.1 and it can be permanently plugged in. The batteries will not be damaged by doing this.

QuestionEvery time I unhook the speakers for surround sound it says batteries are low no matter how long I leave them plugged into the soundbar.I was told to charge them with a usb but for the cost I don’t see why I should have to charge them with a usb cord.

QuestionCan the JBL 9.1 be directly connected to the back of an Apple 4K TV box and will that setup allow for Dolby Atmos to be decoced?

- Answer Absolutely! That's how I have my set up: Apple TV 4K to the HDMI IN of the JBL 9.1 and HDMI Out from the JBL 9.1 to the ARC/eARC HDMI IN of your TV. Don't forget that you have to change the audio format to Dolby ATMOS on the Apple TV 4K. I hope this help.

QuestionEvery time I try to calibrate the rear speakers from our seating position to mounting position I can’t get past RETRY. Firmware is updated. Thoughts?

- Answer I was having the same issue. I found that I had the speakers swapped in rear. The power button should face outside. Worked every time after that.

QuestionI have no treble, all base. How do i adjust the high end ?. How can i adjust the left to right sound ? the sound overall is muffled. I have a new 85 inch samsung and the TV sounds better than your sound bar. Tried optical and HDMI hook ups no change.
