QuestionDolby Atmos surround is accomplished only with a 7.2 speaker surround set up. (2 speakers in ceiling or pointed upward) How can this 5.2 receiver be capable of Atmos surround?

- Answer This receiver virtualizes 2 speakers for the Dolby Atmos surround sound. Ive found the dolby 5.1 to be a better listening experience than the dolby atmos on this receiver.

QuestionWhy is the Volume ratio so different from my last receiver. # wise there is at least a 20 digit difference between the two. Like IF I had it on 30 on the last receiver I now have to put it on 45 or 50 to get the same volume. This has 55 more watts too.

- Answer I can not tell you exactly why it is and also happened to me What I can do is tell you that I did to improve the problem and believe me it turned out. Look in Settings where it says IntelliVolume and change it from 0 dB to 6+ dB. and that's it I hope it helps you.

QuestionI connected my Onkyo Tx-SR393 to a 65" Highsense Roku Tv. However I am unable to get the audio from tv through the receiver to surround sound. I have used an hdmi cable and aux audio cables . What am I missing? How do I correct this?

- Answer 1st-Goto your tv settings. Goto sound and make sure hdmi is selected and not tv speakers or optical. 2nd-Make sure you run the cable thru the arc(audio return channel) hdmi port and not a regular hdmi port. Hopefully your tv has one. Use a premium hdmi cable and not a cheap one because it will short if using arc hdmi. 3rd-Make sure you do the initial setup thru the receiver and that you configure your surround setup properly (i.e. speaker configuration).

- Answer There is not a way to hook the receiver to the internet, however you can connect Bluetooth, like your phone and play that way.

- Answer You could use the speakers. You might blow them kinda quickly if your lg was a home theater in a box. Watts are not the same. There is no industry standard for watts. As for the subwoofer it depends if it’s active or passive. Basically if it has a build in amp on the sub box. This receiver just sends a signal to the sub. No power to sub.

- Answer If your turntable has rca outs then you can just use the Aux ports on the back of the receiver, works for mine. I do not need a pre-amp. Turntable is an entry-level Audio-Technica LP60

- Answer According to Crutchfield the SR-393 will work with speakers from 4 to 16 ohms impedance.

- Answer Dolby Atmos is a new thrilling technology that allows up to 128 audio tracks plus associated spatial audio data for optimal, dynamic rendering to loudspeakers based on the (home) theater capabilities. Therefore, it is a technology that can be used for any type of surround sound, whether it's 3.1, 5.1 or 7.1. My experience with it has been extremely positive, it's like experiencing a movie theatre in your own living room. I have to be honest by saying that I also upgraded my subwoofer together with the new amp.

- Answer You do not require any receiver when you have a sound bar - just connect the sound bar directly to the TV. A receiver is only to be used with speakers, not sound bars.

- Answer If your turntable has either an HDMI out or toslink out connection then yes you can. Look at the picture of the rear of the receiver and you can see the possible inputs. As long as you have a corresponding output on your turntable, then you should be fine.

- Answer Yes. I have the TCL 75" Series 4 (I believe, not 6), and I have it working. I believe I had to initially run the video out to a regular input on the TV so I could see the menu, and then later I had to plug it back into the ARC. But, I was just learning, so your sequence of configuration might be different. I don't remember the exact order, but I can confirm it does work. I use it everyday, and I control the volume of the entire system from the included Roku remote. I turn the TV up, the receiver goes up. I turn off and on the TV, the Onkyo goes on and off.

- Answer To clarify, it's a Zone A/B and not a Speaker A/B option. There's no built-in amp for the second zone. Zone B is an RCA out that you can hook up to an amp. Once you set the amp level, you control the volume via the remote. You can choose to do this with Zone A and B selected at the same time (The remote controls the volume level on both at the same time) or you can have just Zone A or B by itself.

QuestionCan you run two powered subwoofers with this AVR?

- Answer Yes, it has 2 sub outs. Use 1 Y rca cables into one right/left Rca cable for each sub . I use the TX-SR 393 Reciever with 2 polk S15 Bookshelf Front , 2 polk S10 Bookshelf back, 1 S30 polk center and one PSW108 Polk sub. (5.1) In my space with no wall to wall carpet (wood floors and area rug) one sub was sufficient. 14x18 space. A large room with wall to wall carpet would need 2 subs. Also the TX-SR 393 is best with bookshelf speakers if using towers upgrade to a more powerful reciever. Ask your Best Buy store for recommendations on your speakers/reciever.

QuestionThis receiver says it is Bluetooth capable. I have trouble hearing and therefore wear a Bluetooth wireless headset/headphones. Will this receiver connect to my headphones? Would it also play through the speakers and headphones at same time?

- Answer you'd need to buy a BLUETOOTH transmitter ($29 or so) and attach it to the zone b RCA out on the Onkyo. The onkyo includes instructions on how to do this. Works great.

- Answer As far as I can tell the Bluetooth system is for streaming input from phone ets.not connecting to speakers There is Audio output with the B speakers and RCA output

- Answer You can through the aux inputs, but you will have to have a stand alone preamp. The receiver has none built in.
