Customers are saying

Customers frequently mention the excellent print quality and ease of use of the MFC-J6555DW printer. Many appreciate the straightforward setup process and the convenient dual paper trays for different paper sizes. However, some users find the printer's large size to be a drawback, and a few have noted that the scanning software could be improved. Overall, the positive feedback on print quality and ease of use outweighs the concerns about size and scanning capabilities.

EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A BIG PRINTER, ILOVE IT,( SO FAR ). IT WAS EASY TO SET UP, MY DEVICES HOOK UP TO WITH NO PROBLEMS WHEN AIR PRINTING. IT'S FAIRLY QUIET. I NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO PRINT 11X17 PAPER AND IT HAS WORKED OUT GREAT. I HAVEN'T USED IT A WHOLE LOT, BUT SINCE I'VE HAD IT I HAVEN'T NEEDED ANY INK YET.

First impression: What an impressive printer, beautifully designed, with awesome print quality, and which supports printing letter-sized, A4, legal-sized (11x17), and A3 paper, and more, on both sides (duplex/2-sided) of paper. It’s huge. It measures about 22.5”/57cm wide, 25.5” (65 cm) deep, and 12” (30.5 cm) high / 24” (61cm) high when the scanner cover is opened. It’s fast and quite rugged with 44 lbs. (20 kg) of weight. There are 2 paper trays where one of which you could use for regular printer paper and the other one, the “Multi-Purpose” (MP) tray, for different document sizes, such as legal. In general, all machine settings can be performed locally via the printer’s 3.5” (8.8cm) LCD control panel and via remote through Web-based management (mobile app or desktop). It includes 1 set of starter cartridges (4 separate ones) which are estimated to last one year. You can connect to the printer via Ethernet (cable not included), wireless LAN, and USB (cable not included). There is a phone cable included, though. Basic features include: • [1 star] Automated Document Feeder (ADF); it supports all paper sizes for copying, scanning, and faxing; however, the document feeder does not support 2-sided documents, which is a rather large inconvenience to me. Most documents I need to scan and/or want to make copies of are 2-sided. The only workaround for 2-sided printouts is to manually do that using the scanner glass which is very time-consuming. Interestingly enough, the LCD control panel provides 2-sided copy/scan/fax feeder options but shouldn’t show these as they are applicable to the Brother J6940DW and J6955DW printers only. If you try to use these options you will be informed the AFD cannot handle 2-sided documents. • [5 Stars] Printing documents from Windows and macOS, the iPrint&Scan utility, macOS AirPrint, email attachments (up to 10 various file types including PDF and JPG), and from a USB flash drive; note that the default is single-side print, and as such, if you want to print on both sides (duplex/2-sided) best verify your printer properties on your Windows or macOS system are set to 2-sided print prior to printing. • [5 Stars] Scanning documents; a very rich selection of supported devices is provided to which the scans are being stored: Scan to Mobile (where your smartphone does not need to be connected to the network the printer is connected to, scan to a USB flash drive attached to the printer (use your own), and/or scan to a defined folder on a SharePoint server. Note that it scans the actual document size, meaning, it won’t convert, for example, A4 to Letter, or Legal to Letter. • [5 stars] Copying documents; cool options include enlarging or reducing copied images (from 25% to 400%) and “fit-to-page” (does not support legal-size documents) • [Not tested and not rated] Faxing (send & receive) documents with typical options including fax reports. Use the PC-Fax utility for Windows and/or macOS (via AirPrint only) to send and receive faxes directly from/to your computer. The modem speed is 33,600 bits per second (bps). • Total score: (3 * 5) stars + 1 star = 16 stars / 4 categories = 4 stars for this printer Setting up the printer • Easy to unbox thanks to the use of a bad that enables you to lift the printer from the box. • The Quick Setup Guide is included in the box. When following all instructions in this step-by-step guide, initially through the printer LCD control display and then the mobile app to connect the printer to my home network wirelessly, I did not encounter any problems. All instructions were straightforward and easy to follow (note: I am not a printer setup expert). • Note when using the mobile app to connect the printer to your home network, you will be prompted to temporarily join the printer’s own network after which reverts to your home network after the printer has connected to the home network. • Right after the printer is connected to the home network successfully, it checks for updated Firmware and will prompt you to install it when one is found. The green LED blinks during Firmware Update; when finished updating, the printer reboots. • Note that the printer will only print when all cartridges are installed and are above low ink level regardless of whether or not you want to print in color or black/white. Brother Mobile Connect App (iPhone and Android-based mobile phones) • What makes this printer especially practical and powerful to use is the mobile app, Brother Mobile Connect”, downloadable from the Apple Store for iPhone devices and/or Google Play Store for Android devices, and the corresponding desktop app for Windows and macOS which are downloadable from setup.brothers.com. • Using Brother Mobile Connect on an iPhone allows you to browse through the files you have in your iCloud. You can select the ones you want to print (e.g., PDF files, Photo files, etc.) and change printer settings to your needs (e.g., 2-sided printing, number of copies, print quality, etc.) • The app also walks you through Scan and Copy options and prompts you for the file format you want to save your scan, PDF or JPG, and allows you to share the scanned document via text message, email, etc. Using the Brother Web Connect utility, you are provided with options to print and download documents as well as save scanned documents to Google Drive, box, Dropbox, Evernote, and OneNote.

Set-up was amazingly simple considering the size of the machine, this includes set-up of machine plus software. The ink just snaps in, it has its own door to open the compartment and insert the cartridges. I have not dealt with any jams whatsoever, but I did note that all areas where jams can happen are designed for easy access to remove any jam effortlessly. Considering the time I have spent in the past trying to rip jammed paper out of hard-to-reach areas, this is a big plus for me. Printing is amazingly fast! It takes about 3-5 seconds from clicking print on the computer for the INKvestment Brother to complete printing in regular quality. Of course, it takes slightly longer if choosing the high quality setting. There does appear to be some slight bleeding and fraying in prints with thick outlines, like in coloring pages, but for simple words on paper it is hardly notable. The words are clear, crisp, and easy to read. This is honestly a game-changer for the general office work I do, which is printing out forms, receipts, and plans. This not only increases my level of productivity, but it allows those that are waiting on me to be in and out quicker. Double-sided printing is outstandingly quick as well, there is no delay in waiting for the ink to dry, the printer just sucks the paper back in and continues. Print in color does takes longer, a color intense photo takes about 30 seconds, it seems the machine waits for the ink to dry as it goes. The main printer portion prints lengthwise. The multimedia tray on the back is extremely helpful for making quick-printed envelopes and fits and array of sizes. Now for the scanning, I am absolutely floored by how amazing the scans come out from this machine. Never in my life have I witness a more beautiful scan, I had really lost hope that this was possible in all-in-one printers. From office to home printers, scans tend to come out sideways no matter how straight you place the paper. Not with this printer! It scans crisp, clear, high-definition scans in both the flatbed and the document feeder. And the speed is amazing. I scanned 11 documents in 35 seconds through the feeder, no issues, no jams, all beautiful and straight. The feeder takes them in like a dream. For black and white it’s perfectly clear and crisp, for color it’s pretty good but definitely not the best option for scanning photos. First off, the machine has a tendency to oversaturate colors when under the document scan preset, which is actually very helpful with some documents to prevent a faded appearance. Using the “photo” preset will ensure accurate skin tone and overall saturation in photos. That said, even with the higher dpi, there will still be a grainy appearance. This is mostly only evident in photos with skin though, it looks nearly perfect when scanning anything else in color. Just ensure the proper dpi is set, otherwise where will be artifacts such as zig-zag rainbow lines appearing throughout the image. This is for both feeder and flatbed, I just have not used the feeder for photos due to bending. In terms of construction, the machine itself is very well-built. The sliders that adjust depending on paper size move with such ease. All the material feels durable and of quality. The touch screen responds quickly to touch. As for size, it has a pretty large footprint and requires extra space above, behind, and in front of it for the opening and extendable trays. It is somewhat heavy but manageable, yet despite this it does require two people to move and carry due to its width. Overall, I am very satisfied with this printer for its purposes. It really sets a new bar of what a printer can do and what quality performance a printer is capable. Even more noteworthy is the main purpose of preventing eco-waste by making larger, long-lasting ink cartridges. I definitely recommend this to anyone that needs a work-horse printer for everyday tasks.

11x17 printers are difficult to find and expensive to operate. I print large financial charts on “ledger” paper, which in many cases uses a large amount of ink. We have had an HP that worked well enough, but every time I printed I was thinking about the cost of each print. In my opinion, it is not economical to use a “normal” printer if you have high volume. It’s simply too costly. This printer is great! Setup was straight forward, plug in, fill ink, test print, setup wifi, etc. I will say, however, be prepared for a huge machine and consider where you place it. It takes up a large footprint and due to the rear tray design, needs ~1ft clearance at the rear (the trays fold down). Given how we have it positioned, we cannot use the rear paper feeder unless we find a way to turn it sideways. That’s a bit of a weird and unexpected requirement, so we will likely be using the main tray and not the rear feed. I set it up on an iPhone, Android phone and MacOS. Easy to get Printing is started almost instantly when the job is sent and it’s pleasantly quiet. I’ve had printers in the past that are very loud with popping, clanking and roller noises, so this is a pleasant surprise. Quality is outstanding with text and photo documents coming out vibrant and clear. It’s not a professional photo quality printer, but then again it doesn’t pretend to be either. It’s a business workhorse and, if history is any indication, it will last as long as my Brother laser 2270DW I got nearly a decade ago (still, use it daily). Couple of weird things you may want to know. The paper loads in the tray in landscape, which is a first for me. The prints come out in landscape as well (obviously oriented correctly). Regarding the 11x17 printing, I can’t figure out how to load the paper in the main tray so I’m thinking you have to load from the rear, which there isn’t room to do (I could be wrong here). Guess I need to read the manual. Also, the paper type choices are pretty general; for example there isn’t a specific quality called “glossy photo paper,” rather it’s a generic glossy setting. If you are looking for an economical, high-quality tank printer/scanner/fax that carries a name you can trust, I can’t recommend it enough! I included some photos for reference.

Let’s get one thing straight: the Brother MFC-J6555DW is a BIG printer. An absolute unit. If you were thinking of placing this on your regular office desk and immediately next to your laptop or computer monitor, think again. Unless you plan on folding up the tray where the paper comes out of (in the front) or the multi-media paper tray (in the back) every time you want to print something, you’re going to want to have a dedicated space for if you want to be able to use this to its fullest potential. When it is expanded, the front fully extends out a good 11 inches, while the back expands up to 4 inches (or 3 inches if you don’t full extend it). You’re losing a foot of usable space. But let me tell you, this is a beast of a machine. Brother has been a well-established brand name in the printer industry. Their line of home laser printers has always been one of, if not the best, beating all but business-class printers. In terms of quality, robustness, and price, you couldn’t beat them. I’ve been a Brother laser-printer fan for a long time. How long, you may ask? Oh about 10 years. My HL-2280DW has lasted three college students worth of printing papers like crazy. I’ve replaced the toner maybe three times and the drum once. With an ink printer, you’d be replacing the cartridge like every 1-2 months. After four years of other brand ink-printers, I swore to never use them again. Why? Because the ink heads would have issues, either clogging or drying out, forcing you to buy expensive cartridges. I’ve had one too many situations where I had a to pull an all-nighter and hand in a printed copy only to find out that when I try to print — surprise, surprise, I’m not low on, but it’s smearing or not printing and all, but now class is about to start so I don’t have time to run to the store to buy a replacement. What was absolutely maddening was one brand (starts with an ‘E’ and ends with ‘Son’) locked me out of my all-in-one printer from being able to do anything until a popped in a “genuine cartridge”. It had a chip to prevent you from putting in third-party version so you were locked into their money-making scheme. All I wanted to do was just SCAN a document, but it was a no-go, all because it said my color ink was low. With the HL-2280DW, I never had that problem. After getting so used to laser printers, I finally came across the J6555DW which is an ink-based printer. Could this be it, the one? I like Brother, sure, but ink cartridges were my bane of existence. A laser toner has a much higher capacity for printing than an ink cartridge could ever provide. Supposedly, this one is rated for one year. Time will tell if this claim holds true, but conservatively, I’d say that it is on track to keeping true. What I really like about this particular printer is all of the capabilities it has. It’s an all-in-one printer, so obviously it has the ability to print, copy, or scan. Surprisingly, a lot of businesses still require you to fax documents over (we have the internet and email, hello?) and yep, this printer has that capability to do that too. Now that I’m an adult with adult things to do, I like being efficient and saving time and money. My old printer was and is still very capable. But one thing I promised myself was that the next printer I would buy would have to have this requirement: ADF (Auto Document Feeder). If you have ever had the displeasure of being required to scan 20+ pages worth of documents hand-by-hand (I’ve had to do this three times, weeks apart of each other), you’ll be saving time and sanity with this feature. All the pages get loaded up in a nice pile and it scans them neatly, in order, and you can choose to export it to the media of your choice. This is perfect for insurance or taxes. When you hand-scan them, you risk some of the pages not being aligned or rotated in the same orientation as the rest. With ADF, it is bliss. You just press some buttons and it does its job. There’s a large 50-page paper feeder tray at the bottom which also supports photo paper. The multi-media tray at the back supports extra-long paper as well as envelopes. The printing directly to envelopes is a time saver for those that like to save time and money (do it yourself instead of paying a business to handle a wedding or baby shower invite — they need you to put in the addresses anyways). It has a nice touch-screen LCD to access the printer’s functionality. It is quickly recognized on your network so your group of computers can print to it without needing to install the Brother print software. Of course, if you want to do something like scan from your device while you’re on the computer in the other room, you will need to install either their software or app. I disable the status notification and update checker because I find it sometimes impacts my computer startup in the past and I try to keep my machine as lean as possible. Annoyingly, it does require a different phone app than the one I already have for my existing Brother printer. Summary: if you have the space for this, I highly recommend this printer. Even if you don’t have the space, Pros: powerful printer with a lot of features, can supposedly last a year, you can find cheaper third-party refills, solid quality build Cons: older phone app not compatible with this newer printer, printer has a larger footprint.

The Brother MFC-J6555DW printer is part of Brother’s INKvestment Tank line of printers and is next to top-of-the line of six printers (in the U.S. market). The one model higher has two pull-out paper trays on the front of the printer instead of one like the J6555 and also supports Near Field Communication which the J6555 does not. The J6555 is obviously aimed at the business user, but is not priced out of the range of most home users. Something that might be a bigger concern for some home users is the weight (44 & 1/2 pounds) and size - with all trays expanded and paper support flaps extended, this printer measures about 22 & 1/2” wide, 34” deep (front to back), and 16” high. The actual footprint of the machine where it sits on a surface is about 22 & 1/2” x 19”, and it is 12” high when all trays and flaps are stowed. The power cord is permanently attached and is not detachable with a female C13 end like a lot of computer products have (this might be a concern for someone wishing to use an existing power cord because of cord routing). If you find the need to print, copy, scan, or fax documents up to 11” x 17”, this is the printer for you. I don’t know if I have ever seen a more versatile or full-featured printer. The print quality in both black & white and color is top notch as you would expect of just about any high end printer from a major manufacturer, so I don’t see the need to comment much on that - text is clear, crisp, and well formed. The quality of photo printing is more than satisfactory to my eye when using glossy photo paper, and while it might not match professional photo printing, it makes up for that with the convenience of doing it at home and not having to wait. I found it interesting that the Brother iPrint&Scan app on my iPhone will not work with the J6555 printer and it refers me to use another app, the Brother Mobile Connect app, but my MacBook Pro laptop DOES work with the iPrint&Scan app. While I’m sure there must be a good reason, I find the inconsistency a little annoying. Like virtually every electronic product nowadays, this printer does not come with full, printed documentation in the box, just a Quick Setup Guide, Product Safety Guide, Reference Guide, warranty information, and a piece of lightweight cardboard that might easily get overlooked or discarded if you don’t look at the flip side and see that it is “Maintenance Sheet” that you should save. Besides starter-size ink cartridges, the only other “accessory” in the box is a phone cord to utilize the fax capability of the machine. The electronic PDF “Online User’s Guide” (also downloadable) is 651 pages long, but most of those pages are only 25 to 50% documentation and the rest of the page is blank space, so it is not quite as intimidating as it first appears. That said, there is a LOT of information aimed at users that need the plethora of features this printer is capable of - business users mostly and those that do a lot of faxing, such as the medical and law professions. While the all-in-one printer is a wonderful tool for the typical home user, fax capability is probably something most people do not need or cannot even use as a lot of the population has done away with their landline telephone. A few general observations, the main paper tray will hold 250 pages of paper (half of a ream), the remote print feature to print while you are away from home or work will require a Brother Online Account, if you are going to connect the machine using a USB, Ethernet, or phone cable, the jacks are not on the outside of the machine (they are under the scanner cover), and the manual warns against using self-adhesive envelopes and “bond paper” for two-sided printing, as both of these items are too thick and can cause paper handling issues. Also of interest is that the print head will periodically clean itself to maintain print quality the next time you have to use the printer - this is done even if the printer is turned off, as long as the printer remains connected to power. That is a sweet feature if you don’t use your printer regularly. The only real misstep I found in design is that the three menu “buttons” (Back, Home, and Cancel) are part of the touchscreen and are not physical buttons like the “dial pad”, and for some reason the designers chose to not backlight them. While this might not be necessary in a well-lit office environment, it was one of the first things I noticed in the home setting where you might not have the room lights on very bright. For some people speed of their printer from hitting “Print” to finished product might be important and I did run a few tests. Printing a 4” x 6” color photo from my MacBook using AirPrint, over a robust Wi-Fi network netted a 62 second wait. Text was much faster, especially if the printer was not in “sleep” mode - when the printer was “awake”, it took 6 seconds to spit out a black & white page of text. In sleep mode, I had to wait 35 seconds before the same print job was done. Two-sided printing also takes slightly longer than single-side because of the gymnastics the paper has to do. A four page B&W text document took 11 seconds to print on four sheets of paper and 17 seconds to print on both sides of two pieces of paper - a small penalty to pay for less paper consumption. Anyone looking for a versatile ink-jet printer without having to buy small, expensive ink cartridges on a regular basis, will love the capabilities of the Brother MFC-J6555DW INKvestment Tank printer and it should fulfill their needs for a long time. My previous experience with a Brother color laser printer for the past four years has shown the brand to be nothing but a serious contender for quality and reliability.

After going through a variety of printer brands over the past couple decades, this is the second Brother printer I have decided on investing in over four years. Brother brand printers are now firmly locked in as my go to manufacturer for a variety of reasons. First off, and one of the main reasons, the cost of ink has always left a bitter taste in my mouth as, for years, it always seemed to be cheaper to just buy a whole new printer versus investing nearly $100 in ink for a machine that was already out of date. That is definitely not the case with the Brother INKvestment all-in-one series printer line. I was still using the Brother printer I got in 2018 and never once had to replace the ink; I still had about 10% ink left before I got this new MFC-J6555DW model. I didn’t exactly use the printer daily or in bulk but it has handled amazingly and never had any issues with in besides having to perform the standard head cleaning and maintenance, as expected. The advertisement claims the printer has enough ink included in the box to last a year but I would bet that it will last much longer with our household use, even with five people in the house and children printing coloring pages almost daily. Having owned the new J6555DW model only for a short period, I would expect this one will handle just as well, or potentially even better, than my last one that is almost five years old. Some notable specifications are the paper tray can hold up to 250 pages, the multipage copy, scan or fax feeder can handle up to 50 pages, you can print and scan a variety of page sizes including legal 11” x 17” paper and photo size paper, the document glass size is oversized measuring 11.7” x 17” for those larger projects, it has a convenient 3.5” color touch screen that is very easy to navigate and set up, can connect to 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, Apple AirPrint, USB 2.0 or wired to a PC or laptop using a USB cable. At this stage in technology, Brother has made wireless printing a breeze using their software you can install on your PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone. One concern that might be a hard stop for some is this new model is HUGE in comparison to my last printer; I would honestly say a good 40-50% larger. I did not know that upon ordering this new model and it does not come close to fitting in the same space as the old model. It measures nearly two feet in width, a foot high and about 19” deep (over 30” if you have both trays out). That being said, this all-in-one is a huge beast for a reason. I have never used an at home office printer that performed like a small business office printer. Standard color and black and white page printing is extremely fast however it’s the photo printing that really caught me by surprise. Not only were the prints on 4” x 6” glossy printer paper crystal clear, up to 1200 x 4800 dpi, they were spit out faster than any at home printer I have ever experienced. It was as if I sent an order to the local print shop to distribute to family members, display in a frame or put in a photo album but done in record time right in the convenience of my house. No more pricey trips to the local print shop. I can print 30 pages, color or black and white, in a minute and the scanner is just as fast. After owning just about every brand of printer over decades, there is a reason I don’t expect to switch to another manufacturer besides Brother. Their printing products are of great quality, very durable, and easy to use and have recommended them to many others in the printing market over nearly the past five years.

Very impressed! Run a small business? Look no further! This is an inkjet printer that prints as fast as an average laser oriented design without all the haste of replacing larger/expensive toner units. I wasn't sure if the "Up to 30pages per minute" claim was true but it really does print at a high rate. High enough for me not to question the marketing claims. Impressive is an understatement. -The Scanner/fax is fully featured. Has separate auto load tray and larger tray for accurate scanning. I can't comment on how the FAX works as I do not have a dedicated line coming into my home. -RJ45 and Wireless options! Yes you can wire this printer to a network. I consider this a prosumer feature. The wireless also works as expected. Supports both 5G and 2.4G bands. Concerns: This is undoubtably a large and heavy printer. Please be aware that you may need dedicated desk space in your office or small business area. I don't have an issue, but this will be a drawback for some people. -The starter Ink kit that comes with the unit is designed to last up to 3000 pages for B/W and 1500 pages for color, though the ISO rating in my OSD seems to claim 2400 pages for B/W and 1950 pages for all color cartridges with fresh install. Not sure why there's a discrepancy here. -Color printing isn't the best. If you want highly accurate color prints, you may need to look at a higher end or alternative Brother model. The issues: The wireless print connection on 2.4G has randomly disconnected once, though it seems to have corrected itself. I'm not sure if this is due to the printer entering standby mode, but that really concerned me. I also had an issue with getting jammed on setup, but I believe this was more or less the tray not being lined up properly for letter pages. Seems to work without a hitch now. Placed around 200 pages in the tray. Overall.. I am very impressed.. We're finally at a point where inkjets can rival laser oriented designs. Upgrading from an older inkjet? This will be a massive upgrade as long as you can accommodate the size of the unit.

Brother knocked it out the park with this printer. Took all of ten minutes to get it setup and running on my network. Prints full page no border pics quick (they come out pretty good). If you pay attention to the instructions you should have no problem getting it and ready to go. Brother has a few videos prepared to walk you threw the setup as well if you don't like reading instructions. Looking at the size of the unit you would think that it was pretty heavy but it isn't. You definitely want a extra set of hands available when getting it out of the box. I was able to do it but I have a pretty big wing span so it wasn't that much of a issue. Straight forward instructions so it should be a breeze getting up and running. The 11x17 is a huge improvement over the regular 8.5x11 scanning bed. The document feeder will handle the large size format as well so huge bonus there as well. If you run a small business this printer should be on your short list or if you find yourself needing to print large format you should be good to go. Did I mention this thing is kinda huge? It takes up a bit more space than your average ink jet printer so make sure you have a place for it. The tanks are a great idea and we'll see if they last a year. I normally don't print that much but I am going to make it a point to print some photos now and give it a workout. I don't foresee a issue in that department though. This Brother MFC-J6555DW is a great printer for a home or small business. As long as it lasts and the ink holds out for close to the predicted period of time it should be a nice addition to the fold.

Packaging: Unit was packed well with styrofoam in box. Printer was to lift from box in its plastic bag. Build Quality: The overall unit feels solid without being overly heavy. Print tray feels a little thin and flimsy when pulled out, but does the job just fine. Initial Setup: Step-by-step instructions on ink cartridge installation, paper tray settings, and print quality/alignment check were displayed on printer's LCD screen and helped make setup simple. Wifi setup was equally easy. The only minor callout I have is that the written instructions tell the user that the default password that is needed to upgrade firmware is located on a sticker on the back of the unit at one of the final steps. It would make more sense to call this out towards the beginning of the process so the user can make a note of this password before placing their printer and having to move it around to access this sticker later. App: I was able to download and setup the Brother Mobile Connect app from the Google Play Store without hassle. Sending images through app to the printer and from the scanner to the app were intuitive and worked seamlessly. Print Quality: Text printed out clean and crisp and photos were fairly true to color. Overall, I am very impressed with how simple setup was and happy with printing and scanning capabilities. Would recommend this all-in-one printer for its print quality and user-friendliness.

Quick Beautiful Printing for Small Business

I own my own small home business and desperately needed a printer/copier for my pamphlets, booklets and office documents that was both cost effective and quick. This is my first “Brother” brand and I was not sure what to expect. The entire unit is sturdy built from the paper guide to the control panel. It is also very heavy. This printer is larger than any previous printers I have owned. It was easy to set up and connect wirelessly to WI-FI. I have 5g WI-FI and find that many electronics will not connect to it but had no problem with this printer. The APP is great for printing when I’m not in my home office. I have experienced no problems at all. The print is bold and easy to read. The colors are vibrant making my pamphlets look so professional. My documents come out perfect every time. I love that the paper tray holds 50 sheets of paper so I don’t run out in the middle of large printings. The control screen is bright and easy to read for my aging eyes. I love that it is angled and sticks out for easy viewing. I have never loved a printer until now. I love this printer. It has already saved me time because I don’t need to keep filling it up with paper or ink. I’ve always been big on purchasing the largest ink cartridge but The ink cartridge that came with the printer is larger than I’ve ever used before. It prints so quick. No more standing around waiting for my pages. I don’t pretend to understand what a “maxidrive” is or how it makes the printer work better. I only know it works and checks all the boxes that I wanted/needed in a printer. It comes with a 3 year warranty which gives me peace of mind. I’m well pleased with this printer and believe it will save me both time and money.

I love this printer. I’ve had no problems with it since I purchased it four months ago. This is an easy-to-use printer. You can’t go wrong with it. (1) User menu’s can be accessed on the printer, on the computer, and on-line. The help menu is easy to understand with picture diagrams. (2) WiFi is quick and simple to setup and doesn’t have to be reset every time the WiFi loses signal. It just reconnects as if nothing happened. (3) There is no time lag between the time a text document is set to print and the actual printing of the document. There’s no waiting for the pages to print except maybe a few seconds for color-saturated photos. (4) The print quality is comparable to some of the more expensive models by other companies currently on the market making this printer a good choice for the price. (5) The rear paper tray accepts a wide variety of sizes and paper types making it extra easy to use. What isn’t there to like about this printer? I wholeheartedly recommend this printer for office use and all things creative.

The machine is a good all-in-one printer, scanner, and fax is suitable for any small business or home office. It is a Brother Inkvestment Tank, designed for economical printing in black/white and color prints. It is a significant saving, especially for large-volume printing. The flatbed scanner is 17in x 15in, more prominent than other types of all-in-one printers. You get all the inks needed to use the printer right out of the box, of course, except the print paper. It takes the unit about 3 minutes to get the ink from the cartridges to the tank reservoir. Connection is via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and NFC (for guests/visitors), allowing printing from any computer or mobile device. The app for the printer has a simple design and an extremely friendly and easy to use. The print quality is good, and the output speed is reasonably quick, with crisp and sharp prints without smudges. Scanning options available are the large flatbed and the top feeder tray. The print output tray is on the front, and the feeding options are via a tray upfront or a multipurpose tray on the back. The multipurpose is excellent for envelopes or different size paper. The loading and printout paper are both in landscape orientation, longer side. If desired, this printer comes with the option EZ Auto Reordering, which conveniently gets ink delivered to your doorstep once the printer deters a low ink level. Simple and easy ink ordering right when you need it. Overall, this is a good all-in-one printer. Very simple to use, and you never have to worry about running out of ink again.

    Workhorse printer for small business

I am a big fan of Brother printers. In my experience they have been the most reliable and easy to maintain printers. I have owned numerous ones in the past, from laser to inkjet. As a Mac user, I appreciate the fact that Brother printers work seamlessly with Airprint right out of the box without me having to mess around with installing additional software or messing around with the settings. I have been using this Brother MFC-J6555DW printer the last few days as the printer for outputting documents for my small business. It has been superb. The most noticeable feature is how fast it prints documents. It feels like its as quick as a laser printer for normal black and white printing. The color printing on best quality is outstanding. I am able to print out professional looking full color product handouts. The front loading paper tray can hold up to 250 pages. There is a rear multi-function paper tray that can be used to hold a different quality paper or loading envelopes. This is very convenient. I use the front loader for normal draft quality paper and the multi-function tray for high quality paper stock. This is a good value in terms of ink as the stock ink is supposed to last up to one year. I know that running out of ink has been one of the most annoying things about using inkjet printers. Hopefully this does last a year. Overall, I have been very happy with this printer. It works seamlessly with my Mac to print via Airprint wifi and also with my iPhone to print. I highly recommend this as a printer to use for heavy volume printing as is typical of a small business use case.

A solid printer that prints very fast. This is definitely a home office printer as it is too big and heavy to fit on a kitchen counter. It is heavy as well. The build quality is good so I expect it to last a while. I have not had to get any new ink for it yet. The good is that it can print from two different trays and scan flatbed or feeding it through. The bad is that it is not double sided - scanning or printing.

Fast, reliable printer ideal for a small office

I put this machine to work and so far it passed the test. The installation was simple and easy to do through wi-fi. At first, the printer tested itself and the connection was established at first trial without a glitch. I downloaded the recommended app on my Android and two iOS phones. Printing and scanning were easy to configure with the available software and simple to use. The printing process is fast for documents regardless if they are black & white or in color. I tried several documents from my laptop, my Android phone and from the two iOS phones. The connection was immediate and I haven't experienced any glitches as of this writing. I also printed portrait and nature landscape photos and the results were good. Nature photos were a bit on the warm side but the portrait photos impressed me the most as the skin tones stayed close to natural. Scanning for the document feeder and the glass were similar and of good quality, The Brother Print & Scan software offers several options to customize and I've found a few of them helpful for my needs. The copy function worked as good as I expected with no issues and came out close to the original documents. Copies of portraits and magazine covers were a bit on the dark side but acceptable. I did not use the fax function as I have no need for it and no landlines to test it. To conclude, I like this model for being a workhorse and delivering whenever it is requested. Its dimensions at 23"x19" without the paper extensions make it ideal for a small office or home based business. Plus the included ink cartridges have tons of ink that can last up to a year depending of usage. I'm very happy with this model and I will update if there are any changes.

This printer does a great job printing and scanning. I do real estate so I print all kinds of documents and color brochures. The ink lasts a long time and I've not replaced any ink in the year I have owned it. I had mine about a year and then it bricked on an update. I called Brother and talked to a great customer service agent and they had a new printer sent to me in two days! I chose Brother as I've heard they have great customer service and they absolutely delivered. I will never buy printers from any other brand!

I don't typically write a review but I believe for this Brother printer it was warranted. I found this Brother printer to setup very easy compared to the HP printer it is replacing. I also found some of the reviews read before buying to be more personal issues than printer issues. For the money and capabilities available in the printer to be an outstanding value. I would definitely recommend the printer to friends and family. I gave the Brother 5 Stars
