This is a mighty machine! Wife takes a ton of pictures as a photographer as well as of our kiddos and needed more secure storage for them all.

Used to back up my aunt's old computer. Easy peezy plug and play and good to go. It's small and unobtrusive; it's a great buy, or should I say..a best buy!

Small, fast, rugged SSD drive for traveling stuff. Only issue is that the provided cable is very short - like 4 inches total. It does include a USB-C to USB-A adapter, dual ended.

I haven't had this for too long but it's so far a nice reliable device. It's compact with a lot of storage. And fast! I transferred 200 GB to it in 7 minutes. I was blown away.

This is a solid state portable External. I absolutely love it!. Am putting so many photos on, plus an everyday USB that I use on it as a back-up. Still have sooooo much room left. It's just a little bit bigger than a credit card. Little thicker. I would recomend this to any one. Great back up and storage.

My 1st experience with a WD external Solid State Drive was wonderful as it worked flawlessly and is much better than a mechanical drive. The only thing that I did not like was the short cable that came with it, but the drive is so light that you can leave it hanging if necessary. And, the Sale Price during the Thanksgiving Sale was the best time to buy it at a great discounted price!

Over the past year I have purchased multiple storage drives for my content creation needs. The most recent were 2 of these SSD 2TB Drives. I think they're great. The best part about the SSD is that you don't have a constant moving hard disk like the HDD making these much faster for data transfer and less noisy with the humm and vibration of a HDD. They also come with the software already programmed into the SSD so no need to go an find a specific program and download. The downside to this is that the programs are now obsolete and have been replaced with a new software which you will have to go and find and download. Otherwise these drives are awesome just wish they weren't so expensive.

WD -2 TB external drive was a stellar deal at Bestbuy. My experience with the hard drive is amazing so far without compromising on the performance. My experience with bestbuy was amazing as well being the first time shopper in store. The expert guidance to express checkout and explanation of the deal was definitely a remembrance for me.

Excellent product. Wester Digital lived up to my expectations as they usually do. This drive is easy to set up. Just plug and go whether you have a Mac or a PC, although you create any Windows or Mac type of file system that you'd like. It's about the size of a credit card and the thickness is that of about 7-10 credit cards. It's super fast as well. My only regret is that I didn't buy a bigger drive at the the time.

I am very pleased with the new WD passport SSD. I use it as a backup drive for all of my files. I purchased it to replace a WD HDD drive which failed on me. This SSD drive is much more reliable to store my 4000 photos that I have accumulated in the last 20 years.

With MANY caveats, this is an extremely useful upgrade to My Passport Ultra HHD. The form factor, weight, warranty and USB-C connection is worth the $$$. While the HHD from 2016 is still going strong, it is an HHD and the Time Machine Back Ups I've been using it for do have a lifespan if the HHD fails; which they can and will. The Passport is a SSD so Read & Writes are faster, no vibrations, will last significantly longer and comes with 5 year warranty instead of the 3 year with the ULTRA. The SSD doesn't get as warm as the HHD due to no moving parts, and can slip into your pocket with ease. CAVEATS as noted: My Mac Pro Intel using Disk Utility took many attempts to erase and format to Mac OS Extended Journaled and then APFS for Time Machine Backups. Received consistent Failed attempts. Took many partitioning adjustments, Mac restarts, unplugging Passport and attempts to finally get a viable automatic backup available but this Passport finally succeeded. While I would recommend whole heartedly for use with a Mac or Pc as a backup or drive extension; if you want to use for Time Machine, I hope you have an easier time than I... Another word of caution, this SSD comes with some Paragon software which you don't need and I'd advise not to use as it's not ready for Monterey but can be used in pre OS's.

Excellent capacity and speed! SSD is a must when transferring files.

I need a high capacity external SSD to store video footage and large raw image files. This one is very fast and compact. Recommended.
