A:AnswerI have the same issue. After doing some googling, it looks like others do too - get forced to do a clean cycle and then get locked into a 60 minute countdown timer that locks up every 10 seconds. My one hour clean has thus far taken over 14 hours and counting because I must hit the power button on and off every time the countdown hits a multiple of 10 in order to keep it progressing.
The infuriating part is that I don't think this even does anything - you are basically just soaking the evaporator cartridge in water and citric acid for an hour. I can't see any mechanical agitator, ultrasonic vibrator or other benefit to the process from having to carefully put the thing inside the machine for the one hour soak. It's not self cleaning so much as it just forces the owner to clean it while torturing them with a broken timer.
I've tried unplugging the device for a while to see if it forgets, and it just starts the 60 minute timer over.
Users on other forums reported that if you bug Dyson, you can eventually get your faulty device replaced...after you send yours back, wait weeks without anything to use, and then someday a new one will supposedly appear with a new warranty. Infuriating given that this is probably the most expensive thing you can buy in its class.
For anyone else similarly afflicted, here's there phone numbers:
US: 866-693-9766 | UK: 0800-298-0298 | CA: 1-877-397-6622 | AU: 1800 239 766 | NZ: 0800 397 667
You will need your serial number from the bottom of the device. Be prepared for a horrific wait time on the phone (It took 30 minutes for a rep to answer who then transferred me to another hold queue where I waited for 15 minutes before someone picked up the phone and then hung up without ever speaking. Guess I get to call back? Fun times.)
If this thing wasn't so expensive I would throw it in a dumpster and get something else For those who recently bought one, the first cleaning cycle doesn't hit you until a couple months into ownership. So, save your packaging and hope for the best.
A:AnswerFrom the Dyson Website - this unit "uses Dyson’s advanced evaporative technology. Water is placed onto a biostatic woven mesh evaporator and air is used to convert that water into water vapor so fine that it is invisible. This also means it can’t carry particles or bacteria with it, providing a healthier environment."
A:AnswerHi Mike, this is Kelly with Dyson. Not a silly question at all; we hear this one often. The only Dyson product that does contain Teflon, is the Supersonic hair dryer. Our current Hot + Cool EC products (AM09, HP01, HP02, HP04) do not contain PTFE as part of the heating element. The PH01 Pure Humidify + Cool does not produce heat, so there would be no teflon or any danger to any type of pet.

A:AnswerYes it can. The item can be set to auto air purifier and auto humidifier. It also can be set to a certain level instead of auto. Or you can turn off both humidifier and air purifier and just use as a fan. However, when using the humidifier the fan will need to be on a minimum level for it to work properly.
A:AnswerHi Pepe, this is Kelly with Dyson. Our Supersonic hair dryer contains PTFE and Teflon which are the chemical elements that make those unsafe for birds. The PH01 Pure Humidify + Cool doesn't have any type of heating element, so this machine would not contain that, therefore being safe for your bird.

A:AnswerI've been using mine since 3/29/21, and have not seen any. I don't think these models perform the same way like other humidifiers I had in the past which creates that constant mist. I have an external device that monitors humidity in my bedroom and it matches up with the Dyson so at least I know it is working at least.
A:AnswerThe frequency of needing to do a deep clean cycle will depend upon the hardness of the water in your area and the normal ambient humidity levels. So, it is difficult to give an exact answer. For example, if you used distilled water (not recommended, too expensive) there would be very little mineral buildup and deep cleaning would not be needed.
A:AnswerIt’s not an air conditioner(does not have a condenser like a fridge or a window unit); it behaves more like a fan. However the the humidifier may make the the room feel cooler than other rooms due to the added moisture and air circulation it provides.
A:AnswerHi there, this is a great question! You can use the machine, without humidification. You can disable that and just the machine just as a regular purifier fan.

A:AnswerHello Ami, this is Kelly with Dyson. CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. This is the volume of filtered air delivered by a purifier in a given time frame. This measurement does not represent the quality of the air leaving the unit, only how much. For this reason we feel that it is largely irrelevant. This does not in any way represent a machine's ability to effectively mix the purified air with the ambient air in the room. CADR testing is performed in an empty room, with a ceiling fan simulating air movement - this is not indicative of the live environment our products are used in.
Our product has a lower CADR – but actually projects the air much further than other products, features better filtration, and more effectively mixes the air in the room

A:AnswerHi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The PH01 Pure Humidify+Cool is ideal for larger spaces, and it purifies, humidifies and cools the air around you. The filtration helps to automatically sense and capture allergens, pollutants and gases. It purifies to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns from the home. It also removes pollen, pet dander and odors such as cigarette smoke and cooking smells. The purifiers, however, will not collect or trap pet hair.

A:AnswerHi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. The Dyson Pure Humidifier + Cool will clean the air in any size room. The bigger the room, the longer the machine will take to purify it as there is more air in the room. In a room of 139ft², the purifier will purify the room in 27 minutes. In a smaller room, it will take less time to purify the air; in a bigger room, it will take longer to purify the air.

A:AnswerHello Tong, this is Kelly with Dyson. Great question, but no. To ensure hygienic humidification, we have an airmesh evaporator with our unique technology column in the tank. Inside this column is our PTFE tube which reflects 95% of UV-C light. As water passes through this tube, the UV-C light emitted kills 99.9% of bacteria in the water.

A:AnswerHi there, this is Kelly with Dyson The LCD screen on the machine will alert you when the filters need to be changed. The filter is engineered to last 4382 hours, or a year, based on 12 hours of every day use. The filter may need to be changed before this time, it solely depends on use.
