QuestionDoes this washer actually fill up with water?

- Answer No, this washer does not "FILL" with water....even if you use the deep fill option. The fullest it ever gets is about 3/4 the way up the tub. I have tested it on each setting and it will not fill higher than that. I still recommend the washer. I had to get use to the idea of not putting more clothes in it than it can handle, but once I did, I love it!!! I had a front loader before this and I hated it. My clothes never smelled clean. I have a teenage boy and I could still smell him when I opened the front door. As long as I do not over fill this washer with clothes, everything smells very clean when done. I am guessing the people that say it "FILLS" have never opened it to realize that "FILLING" means only 3/4 full and not anywhere near the top.

QuestionDo the clothes come out twisted into ropes? Especially sheets and jeans.

- Answer Large HE Maytag, a load of long sleeved shirts, sorted properly will come out tied in knots and in long ropes. I hate the new machines. Sometimes have to rinse twice even using proper soap pods. The old type machines need to be manufactured again!

QuestionHOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR THE SPEED WASH CYCLE? I SEE THIS IS NOT THE QUIETEST MACHINE BUT MOST REVIEWS ARE GOOD BUT THE PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THE QUIETER MACHINES THAT I'VE FOUND IS THAT THEY ALL TAKE FOREVER TO RUN A WASH CYCLE, ALL OVER 30 MINUTES.

- Answer Yes. It has a setting for "Bulky items" and towels. I was able to wash a queen size comforter with ease.

- Answer I've had mine for about 2 months. I wash ALL my clothing, including delicates, in it. I DO use a lingere bag for my most delicate items. I have not had a single problem so far. (I have not tried it on any sweaters yet.) Hope this helps!

- Answer Hello md1831 - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and we are happy to help you. Starting in 2015, many new top-load washers have a lid lock that engages when the washer is either load-sensing before and during the fill, or when it is spinning above 50 RPM. You cannot set the washer to lock for the entire cycle, nor can you prevent the lid from locking during this time. If the washer is paused, the washer will unlock the lid during the spin cycle, but not until the basket has completely coasted down to a stop, for safety reasons. Depending upon the speed at which the washer was spinning when it is paused and also depending upon the size of the load being washed, it could take as much as 3 minutes to coast to a stop and then unlock. - Answer Hi Suen, I am happy to help. The Deep Fill option (not to be confused with Deep Fill Rinse) will add additional water to the wash load, regardless of whether you used a manual or a load-sensing fill. There are two ways Deep Fill works: Add a little more water: Press the Deep Fill button once before starting the cycle to add 3 gallons of water to the wash load. Once the washer has stopped filling, you can press it again to add 3 more gallons. Full Tub Fill: Press and hold Deep Fill button for 3 seconds to have the washer fill to the maximum water level (approximately 26 gallons). Note: The lid must be down when using the Deep Fill option and it cannot be used on the precise fill option. We appreciate you checking with us. Lisa from GE Appliances.

- Answer I also have a king bed. It can easily hold any king sized comforter I have had. I wouldn't hesitate to put it in and let it do its job.

- Answer Don't know because you can't see when washing. But they do work because clothes are cleaner and in better shape when taken out of washer.

- Answer Hello Mellie - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. Yes, this washer offers the "Auto Soak" feature which will soak the clothes for up to 2 hours at the beginning of the cycle. You can also Pause the cycle so the clothes can soak, however, if the machine is paused more than 24 hours, the cycle will be cancelled. If water remains in the machine, select the Drain & Spin cycle to drain basket and spin water out of the washer basket. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!

QuestionRe “Precise Water Fill”: If I choose another option on the washer Selection Knob (small, large etc.), does this override the computer?If yes, how high is the level water for each option (small thru super)? My current washer (12 yo Maytag) let’s me select small through ex. Large. The water levels go up significantly for each option. I don’t want or need a company (or govt.) dictating to me how to wash my clothes. I’m guessing that GE “defines” the levels for small through super and that each level would be lower than I’m now using. If this is the case, I’ll be pushing the “Deep Fill” button often on EACH load. If this is indeed the case, that’s crazy!

QuestionPlease explain what a "unique tri-pulse extra gentle agitate profile" for the Delicate cycle actually means.My current washer has a "Hand Wash" cycle were it agitates a few times, then it sits still to let the clothes soak, then it agitates a few times, then rests. Is this what your "Delicate" cycle is like or does your Delicate cycle agitate continuously?

For lingerie and fabrics requiring special care, this cycle has a gentle wash and a slow spin.The cycle sequence is: fill, gentle agitation, drain, slow spin, fill, gentle agitation to rinse, drain, and gentle spin.
