Q: QuestionI currently have a top loader washer on a pedestal and it shakes alot during the spin cycle. How does this washer do on a pedestal and does it easily balance the load to spin? Too much shaking is my big complaint with the washer I have. Thanks

• A:Answer Yes for both. I can confirm the washer door is reversible, we did it ourselves after delivery and it was pretty easy. We did not buy the dryer, but while researching I did verify on the GE website that the door is reversible by looking up the installation instructions.

Q: QuestionMy washer is making every load hot even though I turn it to tap cold. How do I get it to turn cold. It is making my colored clothes fade. Help!

• A:Answer I know this sounds stupid, but are you sure whoever installed it connected the hot and cold water hoses to the right spigots? For some weird reason, in our house the hot is on the right and the cold is on the left, so we always have to alert the installers.

Q: QuestionHow deep is the machine if you remove the door? The space we have is between 33 1/2 and 34 inches, and I noticed the door protrudes, so probably the machine will fit down the stairs and into my basement.

• A:Answer The washing machine is about 31 1/2”-32” deep without the door. The door adds about 2” to the overall depth. The washing machine is about 1” deeper then the dryer. The machines are 28” wide. It may help to turn them if your concern is getting it through a doorway or down the stairs.

Q: QuestionLoud drain pump? The drain pump is quite loud. It has a very loud hum or growl sound it runs. Is this normal or do I have a bad drain pump? Not talking about the sound of the water draining, but the sound of the pump itself.

• A:Answer I suggest to check page 20 in the manual. There are some spacer (4) needed to the packing but if there are not remove after install the washer make a louder sound when the washer is spinning for example. That was my case. After removing the spacer you should put in the holes a cover that bring in a bag in the washer box. At the end is pretty silent, you can hear that the machine is working but does not bother. Hope this help!

• A:Answer Hello- We appreciate your question and are happy to help! It would be a good idea to check the filter every couple months. If you are having any issues with the washer, you'd want to check the pump filter first before contacting service. Due to the nature of the front-load washer, it is sometimes possible for small articles to pass to the pump. The washer has a filter to capture lost items so they are not dumped to the drain. To retrieve lost items, clean out the pump filter. 1. Using a small flathead screwdriver or coin, open the access door. 2. Place a shallow pan or dish under the pump access door and towels on the floor in front of the washer to protect the floor. It is normal to catch about a cup of water when the filter is removed. 3. Pull down the pour spout. 4. Turn the pump filter counterclockwise and remove the filter slowly, controlling the flow of the draining water. 5. Remove the filter and clean the debris from the filter. 6. Replace the filter and turn clockwise. Tighten securely. 7. Flip up the pour spout. 8. Close the access door by hooking the bottom tabs first, then rotating the access door shut. A knocking (metallic knock, double knock, or metallic clunk) noise during agitation or spin is a normal sound. This sound occurs when the washer transitions from a stop or paused state to running in spin. It happens several times a cycle after the speed changes or pauses and is caused by two components in the drive system engaging quickly. Q: QuestionHow do you turn the fan in the back off during the cycle. It automatically turns on when the washer is on and doesn't turn off till you open the door. The UltraFresh Light is not on, nor was that button pressed. Thanks

This feature will tumble clothes and introduce a constant stream of air into the washer compartment upon completion of select wash cycles. Inside the machine is an extra hose w/ fan assembly to blow air out of the machine; draws air through the fresh vent. The fan is a part of the normal operation. This option adds steam into the washer before the wash cycle begins to assist with loosening stains on the NORMAL, WHITES, TOWELS, BULKY Bedding, SANITIZE+Allergen and POWER CLEAN cycles. - To use it, just follow these steps: 1. Q: QuestionHas anyone had a problem with this washer jumping the breaker? We had one delivered and it kept jumping the breaker on any plug in the house that was GFCI protected. We had 2 other washers (different brands) and had no problem with those.

Q: QuestionWhat is the washing temperature of hot and warm cycles? Does the machine only uses the hot water supply from the house or does it have its internal heating system? If hot water supply is not hot enough will the machine bring the temperature up by itself?

• A:Answer Hello there, Thanks so much for reaching out. The household water heater should be delivering water between 90-120 degrees F. The water is used solely from the household water supply. If the water is not hot enough, Check to ensure both Hot and Cold water supply valves are turned on. Check to ensure the hose connections were not reversed. The hoses are marked with letters "H" for HOT and "C" for Cold. The washer machine does not contain any type of heating element. We hope this helps. Mike@GEA
