QuestionI looked at this unit, it has separate power control's, independent from the top load washer. It's water supply line fitting's are standard and it has an external gray water disposal port. Why couldn't it be used independently in a dorm or camper setting?

- Answer Ok, I installed my set last night. I placed the sidekick washer under the dryer (LG said it was only designed to go under washer) and it works fine. The unit has no need for the top washer, except the back left corner has a switch that senses the washer (or dryer in my case) is on top to allow it to work. If you placed a weight on there or bypassed it, I don't see any reason it would not work stand alone in dorm/camper, etc.

QuestionWhat is the difference between WD100CW and WD200CW. I noticed they have the same functions listed on the description but also noticed the 200 is more expensive.

- Answer The difference is in the width of the unit. The WD100CW is meant to be used with comparable LG washers that are 27 inches wide, while the WD200CW is to be used with comparable LG washers that are 29 inches wide

QuestionCan this be used alone without a full-sized washer and stacked alone under a dryer?

- Answer Yeah, juat secure it. We have it installed on our sailing yacht. There is a "weight" sensor on top, and you can just tape it down. It works great for us. Ours is mounted, so theres no chance of it moving, but in my experience, it doesn't move even if its not secured. Its perfect for us. Sure it's small, but we only wash t-shirts and shorts in the carribean anyways. Definitely overpriced, but oh well.

QuestionDoes the Sidekick fill will water and drain separately from the front load washer? I am trying to understand why does it come with hoses and drain hoses. Would you need separate hot and cold water valves to operate the sidekick?

- Answer Yes, the hoses have a Y connector that splits the main washer connection into two and one goes to the sidekick.

QuestionI purchased a refurbished pedestal washer that did not come with any screws. What is the size of the 16 screws that would be used to attach to the LG front loading washer? What is the size of the 4 screws that would secure the top cover on the washer?

- Answer The 16 screws you are referencing is M4 20mm and the 4 screws are M4 10mm. ^CP

QuestionThere has to be a drip pan under the LG washer (can't easily be removed). Can the Sidekick instead be placed under the dryer? (Apparently LG does not recommend this). Will the dimensions of the dryer and Sidekick match exactly?

- Answer You can stick this thing under anything. Theres a small button inside the clip on the left hand side. As long as it is pressed down the machine will work.

QuestionMy Dryer has steam function which will need a Y connector for water. How will it work if I add this Pedestal Washer for water connection?

- Answer Both the hot and cold water supply lines are split with a y-connector to hook up the two washers . With your steam dryer there will an additional y-connector on the cold water supply line to split that supply line again. When all is done, you will have one y-connector on the hot water supply line and two y-connectors on the cold water supply line.

- Answer This is normal. A liquid in the balance ring around the wash basket helps the basket spin smoothly. ^CP

QuestionCan I use this Pedestal Washer on a counter top?

- Answer While it certainly appears possible, I would strongly recommend against doing that. This pedestal washer is intended to be used with a companion full-sized washer or dryer on top of it, and they lend stability to the pedestal while it spins. If you have this pedestal washer on a countertop, and its load is unbalanced during the spin cycle, it could very easily “walk” itself right off the counter. Unless you can devise a way to secure the washer to the countertop surface, I would not attempt this.

- Answer We have the 27” and a 29” sidekick was delivered. Did not work so had to return for 27” sidekick. Probably same for your situation.

QuestionDoes the sidekick lid need to be left open when not in use? I’m worried about the tub starting to smell musty if it’s not left open, but if it IS open, doesn’t it become a trip/fall hazard? Looking for some advice or suggestions as to what to do. Thx.

- Answer Great question! We recommend running a tub clean cycle once a month, or more often under heavy use conditions or if odor is present. After the tub clean cycle has ended we recommend leaving the drawer open to allow the tub interior to dry completely before closing. At the very least I do recommend leaving the drawer and lid open overnight after any routine maintenance, so that by the morning the interior will be dry, and you can keep the drawer and lid closed during the peak active times in your household. If you are going on vacation, and when you know that the sidekick and washer will not be used for several days, it is a best practice to leave the drawer and lid open to keep the interior nice and dry in your absence. ^Jennifer

QuestionCan this sidekick be used as a standalone washer? Would I be able to use the sidekick by itself for small loads until I find a regular size washer to replace my broken one?

- Answer There is a contact on the sidekick that the actuator of the washing machine has to hit to depress the contact. Due to this the sidekick cannot be used as a standalone washing machine. ^CP
