- Answer Amazing! I have a long haired Shepherd and a Samsung that had to be taken apart daily to cut the hair out of the brush. Maddening,. This one has no issues with the hair at all.

- Answer You must have wifi coverage in your home. You must also have smartphone (either Android based or Apple iPhone) and download and install the Shark app. The Shark IQ vac has no dedicated remote and requires the smartphone with Shark app to control the vac.

- Answer It can be - adjustable, but I would say it is as comparable to Roomba in sound - though with that said this is a much better bot vacuum than the I7. Only the S9 was better

- Answer This is a shark robot vacuum. “S” is one of the Roomba robot vacs. This is a R1000AE, AE is important because the letters AE tell you the vacuum comes with the tower. The shark version is much cheaper but in my opinion just as good at 1/3 the cost. I already bought a second one of these shark vacs after being so impressed with our first one even on carpet.

- Answer This unit does recharge on its own, however, it will return to its dock and recharge fully before coming back out. Then when it “resumes” it scares the daylights out of you a couple hours later and never remembers where it was when the battery went low, so it does a random cleaning path afterwards.

QuestionDoes anyone know how to turn the ECO off and keep the Max power on? The max cleaning is substantially more powerful, but it seems to always reset to Eco.

- Answer No. I just hit the max mode in my app each time. Mine usually starts in the normal mode. Max def works better.

- Answer I have tile, carpet and hardwood laminate floors and it works well on all three. I do have a cat and it doesn't seem to clean up the litter mess as well as I would, but it does keep it mostly kept up.

QuestionWhat is the difference between the R100AE and the R101AE?

- Answer R100AE is a charging base only. R101AE is charging and self empty base. I own the R101AE, and it is VERY nice not to have to empty the robot all the time. I empty the base once a week vs having to do it daily, or twice a day depending on how much dirt the R100AE would pick up.

- Answer It will operate without the app, but you won't be able to take advantage of the mapping application. For instance, with the app I can tell it to clean the den, hall, and guest bedroom. Nothing else will be vacuumed. Without the app you just push the "Clean" button and your little robot will try to conquer the known world, stopping only to recharge and empty its collected dust.

QuestionDoes this robot vac do well avoiding obstacles such as cords, toys that may have been thrown in its path, pet dishes or throw rugs? I know the roomba i7 states it avoids the obstacles even dog poo so I am wondering if this will do the same. TIA

- Answer We would like to let you know that the Shark ION ROBOT is designed with Smart Sensor Technology so it can navigate around obstructions as it cleans your floor. However with cords or any other areas you may not want it to go it is recommended to use boundary strips to stop the Robot from going in those areas.

- Answer We would like to let you know that the robot can easily climb over obstacles and thresholds up to 3/4". If there are areas that your robot cannot reach, you may have to lift it over the threshold or move the dock to another room.
