QuestionDo I need to use a docking station? I live in an apartment and can't drill holes in the wall to mount it. Can it just be plugged into an outlet to be charged?

- Answer Hi Lynn, this is Krystal with Dyson. Thank you for your interest in the Dyson Cyclone V10. The Dyson cordless do not require the docking station to charge. You can bypass the dock and charge it by using just the wall charger. Best Wishes, Krystal Dyson Customer Support

QuestionDyson V10 Soft roller cleaner head? is this the only difference from the absolute and the animal? if so what does it do that that the animal can not

- Answer I asked this same question when I was browsing the models. It's meant for hard surfaces such as tile or wood. To me, it wasn't worth the extra 100 dollars to go from the Animal to Absolute for just that roller when we've done without soft rollers on hard surfaces for all time before now. The rest of the accessories and parts are the same.

QuestionDoes this work well on tile and hardwood floor to suck up dirt?

- Answer This vacuum works really well for me on my hardwood and linoleum floors even at the low setting. It will usually suck up everything from leaves and grass to food particles and kitty litter. I don't have tile floors but I imagine that it will work great! You may just need to use the medium setting to be able to get the dirt out of the grout lines. (And the battery still lasts a good amount of time on the medium setting...I would say a good 30 - 40 minutes). Hope this helps!

- Answer The soft roller is meant for hard surfaces such as tile or wood. From the reviews I've read online, they do get dirty and kind of nasty in a fairly quick order. I personally don't believe it's worth the extra 100 dollars to go from the Animal to the Absolute just for that one roller.

QuestionDoes the Animal model without the soft roller scratch hardwood floors? Is it necessary to purchase the Absolute in order to guarantee that the hardwood floors will not be scratched by the nylon bristles of the regular head?

- Answer Yes; you must engage or hold the trigger while vacuuming. But it seems natural in hand, light, and easy to maneuver with one hand and one motion. Does not seem to be an issue.

- Answer Yes, this thing gets it all out of the carpet. Just make sure to get the animal and not the regular cyclone. Animal has the new improved carpet attachment. I’m still amazed how good this thing cleans. I use medium setting it it picks up everything. There also is thebhigh setting for extremely dirty areas.

- Answer V11 has a stronger suction power make sure you get the one that’s animal I have the v10 animal and it really good and I clean animal hairs all the time

- Answer Yeah I keep mine in the laundry room close to the kitchen and I use it every day, little spills, big spills, huge mess’s it’s great. Not for wet mess, not for liquid spills

- Answer It comes with 2 different sized motor heads, 2 attachments that have brushes on them, and one long and narrow head attachment. Sorry I don't know the names for these attachments.

- Answer I have linoleum and some hardwood. It works great. You have to set the suction adjustment to medium. If you set it to maximum it’s so powerful it will get stuck. You will fall in love with this vacuum. It’s great for everything. Don’t delay, buy it now ! It’s just time dealing with inferior products if you wait.

- Answer Well the v11 model is a bit better for suction but not a huge difference in quality. The v10 is the model I own and it gets the job done, cleans everything easily and has great battery life. The v11 has a different interface for cleaning modes and has slightly better suction. Both are great models but v10 is a great model for everyday cleaning and the occasional heavy duty cleaning:)

- Answer Hi there, this is Kelly with Dyson. Both the V10 and V11 cord-free machines offer 3 suction modes of power. The suction on the V10 is as follows: 15.8 air watts (low), 33.8 air watts (medium, and 151 air watts (high). QuestionOn the Cord free stick vacuum, how does it compare suction wise, to a regular vacuum? I need a vacuum that can suck up al the dog hair as well as the dirt. We only have rugs on our tile and wood floors, not carpet.

- Answer The machine is excellent for pet hair pick-up. Although the suction may be less than a "regular" vacuum, it definitely is not wimpy ! In high suction mode it will stick to the floor !!! The convenience of just "grab it and go for it" will allow much more frequent use than a "regular" vacuum.

- Answer I have only owned my machine a short while, but as a retired mechanical engineer, appreciate the design and quality of the construction. I see no reason to not expect the filter to last several years, assuming of course, that reasonable care and regular maintenance is consistently adhered to.

QuestionI have Mexican Tile floors which are uneven. Which Dyson would be best for that. My Oreck kept getting the bottom plate worn out and I had to keep replacing it. I love the Miele but cord is not long enough at all. Please guide as to the right model

- Answer honestly? stay away from Dyson. They're just so unreliable. You'll spend a small fortune, it may or may not last. And if you have problems with it, their customer service is no help whatsoever!
